Say it Loud Advocacy Series: Spirit and Place POWER Festival

As part of the 2017 Spirit and Place Festival and the Library's series, "Say It Loud: How to Be Heard When Everyone Is Screaming," adults are invited to explore the topic, "The More You (F)Actually Know: Media Literacy and Why It Matters." Develop the skills needed to navigate today’s media landscape to best leverage political power and learn about news ethics in story selection. This program will be presented by local media experts Lynn Sygiel, Charitable Advisors Editor; Amber Stearns, NUVO Editor; and Matt Shafer Powell, WFYI Chief Content Officer. This program is presented in partnership with WFYI, Hoosier Press Association, Society of Professional Journalists, and the League of Women Voters. Walk-ins are welcome. However, RSVP's are requested by visiting spiritandplace.org. This program will be held in Central Library's Riley Room.
