Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with the live televised show running from 7 – 8 p.m. on (NBC) WTHR-13. The Monument light-up will occur at approximately 7:55 p.m.

New Circle of Lights ornament for sale

Have you wondered what’s done with the old, burned out bulbs used for Circle of Lights? Each discarded bulb is saved.

This year and in 2017, Downtown Indy, Inc. is working with Past Unique, an heirloom creator, who has designed a limited-edition ornament made with one of the actual holiday bulbs that has adorned the Indiana Soldiers and Sailors Monument each holiday season in Downtown.

For many years, each bulb has served its community well and is now being retired to make way for updated technology and innovation. The bulbs are among of the 4,784 lights that have been put in place each year by volunteers from IBEW Local #481 and Downtown Indy, Inc.

Keeping Spirits Bright: Circle of Lights Decor Campaign

Help us keep Monument Circle aglow! 

For 53 years now, thousands of spectators gather Downtown at Monument Circle to see the most spectacular holiday display illuminate now called "Downtown Indy's Circle of Lights® presented by the Contractors of Quality Connection and Electrical Workers of IBEW #481. However, most of the electrical hardware and decor has passed its prime and shows great signs of wear. The time to replace and update the decor is upon us.
