The Original Farmers' Market at Indianapolis City Market

May - October
Farmers and locals have united under the Indianapolis City Market roof for more than 150 years. Every Wednesday (May through October) from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., the Original Farmers' Market offers open-air opportunities for shoppers to purchase local produce and the finest Indiana products like maple syrup, morel mushrooms and fresh-cut flowers. Don’t forget the many options of food inside City Market’s walls.

Garfield Park Farmers Market

May - October
The Garfield Park Farmers Market is another option for the Downtown scene. Open 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday through October, this farmers market includes a range of food including fruits and vegetables, jams, coffee and cheeses. Look out for live music, kid's activities and other community events.

Eskenazi Health Farmers' Market

May - September
The Eskenazi Health Farmers' Market provides fresh and local produce, fresh baked goods, plants and other market items to the public. The market, open on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., offers a variety of music as well as resources and techniques to help reduce stress and improve mood. The Eskenazi Health Parking Garage is accessible for patrons.

Statehouse Market

May - October
The Statehouse Market takes place at it original home on Robert D. Orr Plaza from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays May 25 through Oct. 5. Enjoy great food from local vendors and several of Indianapolis’ top food trucks committed to serving healthy selections.

Indy Winter Farmers Market (IWFM)

Nov. 11 - April 28
Get your farm fix in the off-season. Since 2008, the Indy Winter Farmers’ Market has provided Downtown residents with a direct source of local produce and goods during the winter months. Visitors will find items ranging from hydroponic greens to buffalo meat. Market hours run on Saturdays November – April from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Growing Places Indy

June - September
Growing Places Indy is a non-profit organization with the mission to cultivate the culture of urban agriculture and healthy lifestyles, empowering individuals and communities. Growing Places Indy currently farms at the Boner Fitness and Learning Center, the Slow Food Garden at Cottage Home and the Slow Food Garden at White River State Park. Anyone can come pick and purchase their own produce on Thursday evenings, 4 - 7 p.m., from early June to mid-September at the U-Pick farm at the Boner Fitness and Learning Center.

Garden on the Go®

Year-Round, Wednesday - Saturday
Garden on the Go® is Indiana University Health's mobile produce program that launched to improve access to affordable, fresh fruits and vegetables to neighborhoods in Marion County that do not have easy access to healthy foods otherwise. Set up in an indoor "farmers' market style," Garden on the Go® operates year-round, Wednesday - Saturday, stopping at the same locations and times each week, including the Downtown location of Goodwin Plaza Apartments in Ransom Place and Lugar Tower Apartments and John Barton Annex near Mass Ave. Garden on the Go® provides shoppers with a wide variety of high quality, affordable produce-only items from local and regional sources and accepts SNAP/EBT(food stamps) as payment.


Indy Food Co–Op/Pogue’s Run Grocer

This is a community-owned market located at 2828 E. 10th Street, just east of Downtown. The grocery offers local, fresh and organic produce and products at affordable prices. The founders believed Downtown Indianapolis needed a healthier, yet affordable grocery option. Pogue’s Run Grocer offers everything from pet products and bulk items to in-season produce.


Located on College Avenue just north of Mass Ave, R2GO is a specialty market offering fresh to-go meals for on-the-go people. The deli selection includes a variety of cold cuts and specialty meats and cheeses in bulk or sliced to order. R2GO stocks artisan-crafted breads, crackers, chocolates, candies, pastas and cereals (many of which are local), including Chocolate for the Spirit chocolates and BeeFree gluten free snack mixes. Grab a freshly prepared meal from the freezer and take it to-go or eat alfresco on the market's patio.
