1. Dine out
Choose any restaurant from Downtown Indy’s fine dining selection and enjoy a romantic dinner with your love. Join Chef JJ’s for Grill & Swill which includes six paired wines paired with six courses Friday, Feb. 8 or come Feb. 10 for Valentine’s Date Night complete with a five-course dinner and treats to take home for $75. Don’t miss Weber Grill’s special Valentine’s Day menu Feb. 10 – 14. The meal includes a choice of cedar planked glazed salmon, surf and turf or New York strip plus a strawberry salad, shrimp bisque and raspberry swirl cheesecake. Make your night out extra special by adding red roses to your table for $30.
2. Grab your dancing shoes
Get up and groove after dinner at the Love is All You Need Dinner Dance at The Rathskeller Feb. 14. This event includes a three-course meal starting at 6 p.m. followed by a performance from First Time Caller Band from 7 – 10 p.m. Tickets are $100 per couple. Head to the historic Fountain Square Theatre Building Feb. 9 for Friday Night Swing Dance. Take a dance lesson at 7:30 p.m. then stay for live entertainment from 8:30 – 11:30 p.m. with some of the hottest swing bands around. Dancing only is $12 or $14 with lessons.
3. Attend a show
Broadway Star Michael Cavanaugh returns to Hilbert Circle Theatre with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and performs renditions of popular love songs as well romantic ballads for a special one-night-only Valentine’s Day concert at 7:30 p.m. Are you a fan of performing arts? Watch as love attempts to break the bond of old hatreds and redefine family expectations in the tragic classic Romeo and Juliet at The Indiana Repertory Theatre Feb. 9, 10 or 14.
4. Find love-ly art
If your partner is an art guru, the Indiana State Museum is hosting the 15th annual Indiana Art Fair Feb. 10 & 11 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Sunday showcasing an array of art made in Indiana. More than 60 artists from 28 of Indiana’s counties will be represented. Art fair is included with museum admission.
5.Renew your love
Rekindle the flame and stop by the Indianapolis City Market on Valentine’s Day for a wedding vow renewal ceremony. The celebration will include cake, punch, a picture station, live entertainment, coupons to City Market merchants and more. The ceremony begins at 10 a.m. and couples are welcome to remain afterwards.
6. Escape Winter
Indulge in a floral paradise with Orchids at Newfields Feb. 9 – March 4. Discover orchid watercolors collected by the Lilly family and visit the Pop up Shop to take home your own orchid. Exhibit is included with museum admission. Those seeking a unique date night can spend an evening learning how to make an orchid bloom Feb. 22 & 24 from 10 a.m. – noon or 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. with greenhouse specialist and orchid expert Ian Wilhite. Tickets are $50; $40 for members.
7. Get Active
Couples who run can participate in the Be My Valentine Cupcake 5K Run/Walk at the Athenaeum Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. For a more relaxing workout, couples can attend Candlelight Hot Flow Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. or Candlelight Yin Yoga at 7 p.m. at The Hot Room.
8. Gift it!
Receive a surprise visit from Rowdie or Blue this Valentine’s Day. Surprise visits from Blue include confetti, flowers, chocolates, a gift card from Tyler Mason Salon and Spa and Colts gear.
