Fiesta Familia: A Celebration of Latino Cultures

Families and children will enjoy special music, art and culture including:

  • Grupo Bembé- Take a journey across Latin America with a popular Latin band that will get the audience moving with music from several genres including Salsa, Bachata, Merengue, Cumbia and Latin Rock.
  • Zekaya Mariachi Band- Enjoy your visit while being serenaded by an authentic mariachi band.
  • Paper Flower Fiesta- Celebrate by folding your own traditional paper flower. Mexican paper flowers are considered pieces of folk art that represent the soul and culture of the artisans who make them.
  • Mexican Metal Art- Learn about the folk art of Repujado, and create your own unique piece of metal art.
  • Guatemalan Worry Dolls- Create your ownworry doll. According to legend, Guatemalan children tell their worries to the worry dolls, placing them under their pillows. When they awaken, the dolls have given them wisdom and knowledge to eliminate their worries.
  • Panamanian Molas- Design a piece of colorful textile folk art created and worn by the Kuna Indians, the indigenous people on the small coral islands of San Blas Archipelago along the Atlantic coast of Panama and Columbia. Mola means elaborate embroidered panels that Kuna women wear on the front and back of their traditional blouses.
