Farmers’ markets, community gardens, local markets & more provide goods and farm-fresh food to Downtown Indy residents and restaurants. Farmers Markets

The Original Farmers' Market at Indianapolis City Market

May - October
Farmers and locals have united under the Indianapolis City Market roof for more than 150 years. Every Wednesday (May through October) from 9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., the Original Farmers' Market offers open-air opportunities for shoppers to purchase local produce and the finest Indiana products like maple syrup, morel mushrooms and fresh-cut flowers. Don’t forget the many options of food inside City Market’s walls.

Garfield Park Farmers Market

May - October
The Garfield Park Farmers Market is another option for the Downtown scene. Open 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday through October, this farmers market includes a range of food including fruits and vegetables, jams, coffee and cheeses. Look out for live music, kid's activities and other community events.

Eskenazi Health Farmers' Market

May - September
The Eskenazi Health Farmers' Market provides fresh and local produce, fresh baked goods, plants and other market items to the public. The market, open on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., offers a variety of music as well as resources and techniques to help reduce stress and improve mood. The Eskenazi Health Parking Garage is accessible for patrons.

Statehouse Market

May - October
The Statehouse Market takes place at its original home on Robert D. Orr Plaza from 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Thursdays May 23 through Oct. 31. Enjoy great food from local vendors and several of Indianapolis’ top food trucks committed to serving healthy selections.

Indy Winter Farmers Market (IWFM)

November - April
Get your farm fix in the off-season. Since 2008, the Indy Winter Farmers’ Market has provided Downtown residents with a direct source of local produce and goods during the winter months. Visitors will find items ranging from hydroponic greens to buffalo meat. Market hours run on Saturdays November – April from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Growing Places Indy

June - September
Growing Places Indy is a non-profit organization with the mission to cultivate the culture of urban agriculture and healthy lifestyles, empowering individuals and communities. Growing Places Indy currently farms at the Boner Fitness and Learning Center. Anyone can come pick and purchase their own produce on Thursday evenings, 4 – 6:30 p.m., from early June to mid-September at the U-Pick farm at the Boner Fitness and Learning Center. Also take advantage of the Farm Stand On-Demand text ordering system to pick your produce ahead of time.

Food in Transit

June - October
Food in Transit provides fresh and affordable produce to current and future transit riders. The farm stand and locally grown produce are provided by Growing Places Indy and the City of Indianapolis. Food in Transit is available every Friday between June 7 and the end of October from 3 – 6 p.m. and is located at the Julia M. Carson Transit Center. Food items vary each week depending on availability and Growing Places Indy team members will be at each farm stand to answer questions and help with recipe suggestions.
