Events leading up to the Fourth of July

Hoagies & Hops on Monument Circle – June 30

Take part in a Hoagie-eating contest to satisfy your hunger this Fourth of July while helping Hoosier Vets. The winner wins a free 18-inch sandwich every month for one year, but no one really loses because every contestant gets a shirt.

Taste of Indy on Monument Circle – June 30

This food festival blends the city’s most unique restaurants with live music. It gives Indy locals a chance to experience Asian, Soul, Greek, Mediterranean, Cajun, Hispanic and American foods in their home town.

Indiana Fever – June 29 & July 1

Catch the Fever play the Phoenix Mercury June 28 or Atlanta Dream July 1 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Kids 14 and under eat free every Friday and Saturday. The first 1,000 kids receive a hot dog, chips, drink and a chance to shoot a free throw after the game. Tickets start at $13.

Come Downtown July 4

Firecracker 6 Run/Walk at Indianapolis City Market

Jog through Indy on the Fourth in this six-mile tour of some of the best sites and destinations in Downtown Indy. Participants show their USA pride by wearing patriotic colors.

Indy Eleven

Cheer on our Boys in Blue as the Indy Eleven take on the Ottawa Fury FC at 7 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium. Head outside after the game to catch the fireworks!

Indianapolis Indians

Embrace America’s favorite pastime at Victory Field. The Indianapolis Indians take on Louisville July 4 & 5 with special promotions each day. Fans are encouraged to stay after the game July 4 for two fireworks shows – the IPL Downtown Freedom Fest and the Indians’ own fireworks show. The first 14,200 fans will receive rally towels. Tickets start at $11 or $40 for the Cove.

The IPL Downtown Freedom Fest

Head to the Indiana War Memorial beginning at 6:30 p.m. Enjoy live entertainment from the Indianapolis Colts Stage, family fun in the Royal Pin Leisure Center’s Kids Area, support local businesses in the Indiana Originals Marketplace and get a great view of Indy’s largest firework display, launched from Regions Tower around 10 p.m.

The 4th of July ¡Ole!

Visit St. Mary Catholic Church’s annual festival complete with a variety of Latino and American foods, as well as live musical entertainment. This free event ends with a great view of the night sky for fireworks.

Party on the Plaza

Head to the Indianapolis City Market from 7 – 11 p.m. for one of the best seats to the fireworks. This family-friendly event will feature the band Pushing Daisy’s, delicious food options, Indiana craft beer and games. Play ping-pong, giant Jenga, bocce ball and more.

Rooftop 4th of July Celebration

Looking for a venue in the sky? Head to Fountain Square Theatre Building’s Rooftop 4th of July Celebration. This event includes dinner, drinks, duckpin bowling and a beautiful view of the fireworks.

4th of July Block Party

Celebrate your Fourth of July at the Metazoa Brewing Company. This Block Party features live musicians as well as beer tappings, food, a pet-friendly atmosphere and a fantastic view of the fireworks.

Rathskeller Biergarten

The Doo! performs at the Rathskeller this Fourth of July. Grab a German brew while watching the fireworks display.

MOKB’s 10 Year Anniversary Celebration

MOKB Presents will host a music festival beginning at 4 p.m. at Sun King Brewery. The event will feature live performances from Durand Jones & the Indications and others. Guests will enjoy a pristine view of the fireworks, live music, food trucks, games, giveaways plus free hot dogs for the first 500 guests from Tyner Pond Farms.

Under the Sails

Enjoy free live music Under the Sails at the Eiteljorg Museum. Hear Heartstone Crossing from 6 – 8 p.m. and check out the Reel West and other unique exhibits from 5 – 8 p.m. with free admission.
