Bicycles, Mass Ave, food, family and more! The Indy Crit you know and love is back and better than ever featuring new locations, streets and vendors. In honor of the event happening this Friday and Saturday, we sat down with Founder and President Jennifer Cvar and Lisa Hancock to get the inside scoop about all things Indy Crit 2019.
This year Mass Ave Crit is making its re-debut. Kicking off on Friday, July 12 with outdoor yoga hosted by hot room yoga. Mass Ave Crit features a wide variety of new vendors and a high energy you don’t want to miss. With new businesses, restaurants.and stores included, the race has a never-before-ridden route. Vendor village will be located in the St. Roberts Church parking lot along with vendors featured all along Mass Ave for your enjoyment.

But the fun doesn’t stop here! Indy Crit kicks off at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 13 with a 12-mile community ride highlighting the life of Major Taylor and his accomplishments. Right after at 9:30 a.m. junior, women, elite and masters racing begins. Following these races is a 10:30 a.m. four-mile family ride along the Indy Cultural Trail; truly a race for everyone!
During these races there will be a Kids Zone from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. that will include an obstacle course, bounce houses, face painting, full size tennis courts, family style yoga, nine13sports bike simulators that ages 5-6 can get on, 25 booths and more. At 12:30 p.m. kids races will kick off on Meridian Street and following will be the crowd favorite relay races featuring some of Indy’s most prominent people.
Indy Crit is a chance to get out in your community, meet your neighbors and experience Indy from a whole new perspective. And did we mention both of these events are free?! So grab your bikes, grab your friends and family and let’s go racing Indy!
