As we all practice social distancing, our great Downtown Indy attractions are providing virtual tours to help you experience what you might be missing. So grab the family and get ready to tour your favorites… and hopefully see something completely new!
THE EITELJORG MUSEUM
Many Eiteljorg staffers have been working hard to create content that will make you feel like you’re at the museum, remember a favorite piece of art, learn how to play a new game, experience something you’ve never experienced before and ultimately escape for a moment each day. Hear the Eiteljorg’s curator of Western art, history and culture, Johanna M. Blume, explain how the quilts on display in the Quilts: Uncovering Women’s Stories exhibition are expressive of women’s experiences in the West. Be sure to check its Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and YouTube pages for additional videos that the Eiteljorg will be sharing about this amazing exhibition.
Newfields is ready to take you around different parts of the campus, and is also offering numerous live classes and answering questions. Google Arts and Culture offers a tour of the European Galleries. Also check out several live feeds streaming from the Virginia B. Fairbanks Art and Nature Park. These pair really well with the Bird Guide. Instagram classes include:
Friday, March 27 at 5:30 p.m. – Instagram Live with Lindsay Jo Whirley, culinary arts operations manager and certified Cicerone®. Lindsay Jo will do a Beer 101 class, talk about her favorite local beers and answer questions.
Tuesday, March 31 at 5:30 p.m. – Instagram Live with Josh Ratliff, director of culinary arts and certified Sommelier. Josh will give everyone a tour of his social distancing pantry and make a charcuterie board with whatever he has on hand.
Thursday, April 2 at 6 p.m. – Facebook Live Marvel Trivia with Erin Kilhefner, manager of seasonal and festival programs. Erin will lead viewers through Marvel movie-themed trivia.
